Congregation Shomre Beth Abraham is established.
1886
Created by a merger of Congregation Shomre Shabbos and Congregation Beth Abraham, it merges with Congregation Beth Israel in 1893 and moves to a former church at 27 Baldwin Place. It joins with the Talmud Torah religious school there and become the center of the city’s Orthodox Jewish community until the congregation dissolves in 1920.
